Before Jalen Myrick's 100-yard kick return touchdown on Saturday, only three Gophers had returned kicks that far before: Jermaine Mays (top) did so in 2000 against Indiana, Rick Upchurch (bottom left) in 1974 against Wisconsin and Bobby Weber (bottom right) in 1977 against Ohio State.
Happy homecoming week, Gophers! This year’s theme is “Forever Gold.” The U of M Alumni Association has put together some neat materials on homecoming history. Check them out here:

In Game 1, Brewers’ leadoff batter Paul Molitor becomes the first player to collect five hits in a World Series game. The third baseman’s 5-for-6 Series performance helps Milwaukee rout the Cardinals, 10-0, the biggest shutout margin since Yankees blanked the Bucs 12-0 in 1960.
Great as a Gopher, great as a pro.
Lieutenant Colonel Bernie Bierman left the Gophers football team to serve in the military during World War II.
